Food and Faith: The Sabbath Feast

March 18 | 10 a.m. – Noon | $12/ person

First-century Jews enjoyed a special meal each week on the Sabbath, or “Shabbat.” It was a time for family and friends to gather around the table as part feast and part worship. You are invited to join us as we learn about this traditional meal and then go into the kitchen where we will prepare our feast and eat together. The menu includes braised chicken, bulgur pilaf, egg bread, oil and thyme dip, olives, and a chickpea and cucumber salad. No cooking experience is needed.

Ukrainian Easter Eggs

March 19 | 5 p.m. | $10/ person

Join us for Art and Formation as we create these intricately decorated eggs, a spring tradition in Ukraine. Using an art technique called pysanky, you use wax and kistka, a heated fountain pen, to layer the egg in color and create symbols that represent the Christian faith and tradition.
