Family Retreat
April 28-30 – This intergenerational family retreat takes place at Camp Alkulana where we play, worship, and work together to prepare the camp for the summer season. Camp Alkulana is a summer camp sponsored by First Baptist Church, along with the River City Faith Network and the Baptist General Association of Virginia. It is provided to children ages 9-14 that live in the city of Richmond.
Passport Camp
June 19-24 – This summer, our students will take their twentieth annual trip to Passport Camps where they will experience camp fun and thoughtful missions, connect personal passion with a faith journey, and explore a world without borders. This summer we will be at Converse University in Spartanburg, SC.
Mission Trip
July 7-15 – This summer our youth will travel to Helena, Arkansas for a summer mission trip. This is part of a more than 20 year partnership that the FBC congregation has with Together for Hope, Arkansas. We will run a Vacation Bible School with swimming. Students will have the opportunity to lead Bible stories, music, arts, and crafts, and a sport (soccer or golf). There are construction sites for those who enjoy working with their hands, as well as a Blessing Ministry for those who would like to provide company for the elderly in Helena. We will be housed at the First United Methodist Church in Helena and will immerse ourselves into the life and history of this remarkable community. God is doing amazing work there and it will be exciting to join that work!
