Men’s Ministry
The Men’s Ministry at RFBC is excited about its upcoming fall 2025 events and invites you to join the fun! The goal of this ministry is to provide opportunities for men centered around fellowship, study, and service. This group is led by Todd Ball and Jay Styles.
Wednesday Nights at 6 p.m. at the Pusey House starting September 10.
The world is more connected than ever. At the same time, a growing number of people report feelings of isolation and despair. Many of these are men.
One popular masculine stereotype is that of rugged independence; self-made and strong. There is no room to admit weakness or vulnerability.
But there is another picture of mature masculinity, one that understands vulnerability can lead to health and that strength is found in collaboration with others. We believe these alternative characteristics, among others, are exhibited in the life of Jesus. And so, talking about Jesus’ life can give context and purpose to a world that often feels dehumanizing.
Our small answer to the growing problem of isolation is a simple one. Let’s get together. Let’s build a bond of trust and openness at the mid-point of the work week. Much of what we do will be light-hearted. Tossing cornhole or sitting around a firepit in backyard of 2705 Park Ave; just giving men a space to breath and talk. We will center our time by inviting Jesus to be present because we believe Jesus’ example is generative (or life-giving).
No matter your background, beliefs, or age, men need community. We believe this mid-week fellowship can offer men a place of community and belonging!
