Music

Music is an integral part of worship on Sunday mornings. Our choirs, which include singers of all ages, soloists and instrumentalists are accompanied by the piano or organ- the largest in the Commonwealth. Children, youth and adults are all a regular part of Sunday morning worship and seasonal concerts.

The music does not end on Sunday morning. Our choirs have performed in our community, regionally and around the world. Some of our choirs have performed in Germany, Austria, Italy, Romania, the Czech Republic, Mexico and Brazil and at the White House and Carnegie Hall.

For more information contact Phil Mitchell, Associate Pastor, Minister of Christian Worship.

Children’s Choirs (age 3 to grade 5)

Your child can join a choir at age 3 and continue through grade 5. Participation in children’s choirs affords your child a place to develop self-expression, leadership qualities, self-discipline, as well as exposure to musical and spiritual concepts.

Children’s choirs meet by age levels on Wednesday at 6:00 PM except during the summer months. For more information contact Ruth Szucs, Music Ministry Associate.

Children’s Chimes

This group is for grades one to five. We explore many basic music reading skills and the concept of working together as a group to make music. The emphasis is on fun and success regardless of age or ability.

Children’s Chimes meets on Wednesdays at 5:30 PM just before the children’s choir.

For more information contact Ruth Szucs, Music Ministry Associate.

Youth Music and Worship Arts

Our 6th- 12th grade youth come together to explore not only music but also other elements of worship including conversations about the call to worship, prayer, scripture reading, offerings, and testimonies.  Anthems and hymns as well as other musical elements such as instrumental music are explored to broaden the thought process about what can be included in a worship service.  We also explore how visual elements can enhance worship.  The Youth Worship Arts group has created banners, played chimes and drums, sung anthems, shared prayers and testimonies and written a gathering song and a call to worship.  Our hope is to develop worship leaders and life-long worship participants.

Youth Music and Worship Arts meets Sundays at 5:00 PM.

For more information contact Ruth Szucs or Phil Mitchell.
