Praying the Psalms: Learning the Language of the Soul

What if prayer didn’t require us to have the right words—but instead gave us permission to bring our whole selves to God?

 

Praying the Psalms: Learning the Language of the Soul is a retreat inviting us to rediscover the Psalms as a deeply honest and accessible prayer book for every season of life. Come for a time or rest, renewal, honest reflection, and connection while discovering the connections of ancient prayers to our modern lives. Continental breakfast and lunch are included. $25. Lacey Wondree is the speaker for this retreat.

Upward Basketball & Cheerleading

Registration now open | Early registration is $80 for basketball or cheerleading

Upward Basketball & Cheerleading are back at Richmond’s First Baptist Church! Registration is now open for another great winter season of learning, teamwork, and fun!

 

Basketball: Boys and girls, rising 1st–6th grade
Cheerleading: Girls, K5–rising 6th grade

 

All participants must attend an evaluation on Saturday, November 7. Evaluations simply help us create balanced teams so everyone can have a great season. They aren’t tryouts.

Salsa Class Date Night

October 16 | 6-8 p.m. | Gym

Grab your partner and let’s have some fun learning something new on a Friday night! Professional Salsa teachers from Salsa Connection Dance Company will lead a class teaching us the basic moves and helping us perfect our steps in a fun and non-judgmental zone! Light refreshments will be served and free childcare will br provided for those registered. Cost is $20/couple or $10 for one person.
